Missing home (and Bakewell Tart), I happened upon your recipe whilst searching the net. I have very fond memories of this delight and hope my attempt does justice to those school day dessert dreams of yesteryear. I made the tart in a 9" removable shell and glazed the top with warm apricot preserve. We are currently (impatiently) awaiting the creation to cool before dislodging the same from its shell. It looks wonderful, smells even better, and we are all very eager to bite into it. Originally from the UK, I was to glad to find your site and this truly wonderful recipe. Thank you very much for providing such an informative and inspirational place for us home bakers.
