Call me old fashion but I love steak seasoned with salt and pepper.  If you want to add butter or sauce to it, I typically do that as a finishing touch.  As far as how to prepare it, I usually grill it. Grilling times will vary on the size and type of steak you use.   For ribeye steaks, I typically grill them about 4-5 minutes on each side making sure to allow them to rest on a plate for about 5 minutes before eating it.  I usually season it with just salt and pepper.
