The Pioneer Woman Food Network Show

I’ve always been the type of person who loves to celebrate special life events and accomplishments of friends and family.  Last year after playing three seasons on the same soccer team, my older daughter Abigail scored her first and only soccer goal in the second to last game of the season.  I’ll never forget how her teammates, their parents, and coaches erupted in cheers and jubilation when this happened because we all knew this was a huge achievement for my daughter.   Abigail’s face lit up with an unforgettable smile as she was swarmed by her teammates eager to give her high-fives and bear hugs as several of them lifted her off her the ground.  What made the day so unforgettable and special was the genuine excitement and  joy of so many sharing in that spectacular moment.

I share this story with you because for several months I have been very excited for my friend, Ree Drummond, in the same spirit of joy my daughter’s teammates exhibited the day she scored her first soccer goal.

As some of you may know, back in April it was officially announced that Ree would be getting her very own cooking show on the Food Network Channel named after her award-winning blog, The Pioneer Woman.  When this announcement was made, so many people were thrilled for Ree and have been anxiously looking forward to the show’s debut.
It could be argued that having a cooking show isn’t a very big deal considering all three of her books have debuted on the New York Times best-sellers list and the rights to her love story  (Black Heals to Tractor Wheels) was sold to be made into a feature film.  But the truth is… it is a big deal because this is a new chapter in her life for which millions of her fans, including myself, are genuinely happy and excited about. GO REE!

Because I know many of you feel the same way as I do, I wanted to invite you to a Twitter/Facebook party as we celebrate Ree while watching her new cooking show together debuting this Saturday.

Some of you may remember how I hosted a Twitter Watch Party during the Bobby Flay vs. The Pioneer Woman Thanksgiving Throwdown on the Food Network channel last November.  How fun was that?!  Well…  I’m really excited to announce I am hosting another live Twitter Party for fans and friends of The Pioneer Woman.  Except this time we are adding a Facebook component to make it bigger and more interactive!  Also, fabulous giveaways will be involved… think “Ree’s Favorite Things.”

So here is what you need to know:

The Pioneer Woman show will be airing Saturday, August 27 at 11:30 a.m. Eastern/ 10:30 a.m. Central/ 8:30 a.m. Pacific on the Food Network Channel.

If you would like to join and participate in The Pioneer Woman Show Twitter Party during the show, the official hashtag will be #TeamREE.  This is the same one we used during the Bobby Flay Throwdown and I think it’s perfect in showing our support and excitement for The Pioneer Woman show.  This party will be hosted by me and I will be  tweeting as @SavorySweetLife.  PW’s handle is @ThePioneerWoman and Food Network’s handle is @FoodNetwork.

There will also be a Facebook element during this watch party.  You are invited to attend this interactive Facebook Discussion where we will have it be a centralized place where Pioneer Woman fans and friends can discuss our favorite highlights from the show beyond 140 characters.

As I mentioned before, there will be giveaways.  When I presented my desire to host this party to Ree, she graciously and generously donated several of her “Favorite Kitchen Things” (thanks, Ree!) in addition to the prizes I planned on contributing on Twitter, Facebook, and here on Savory Sweet Life.  We will be hostig a giveaway each day leading up to the show Saturday here on Savory Sweet Life starting today in a later post.  It’s going to be crazy.

I would love for you to invite your friends via Twitter, Facebook, and/or blog posts to our Pioneer Woman Twitter/FB Fan party this Saturday.  I just know we are going to have a lot of fun cheering Ree on!

Feel free to leave a word of encouragment for free or RSVP to the Twitter Watch Party below in the comment section.

PS: Don’t miss this sneak peak of her show on FoodNetwork.com.

PSS:  Here’s the first giveaway of our party.  An awesome All-Clad Double Griddle.  Details here.

Disclosure: No one asked or paid me to host this party.  I’m doing this because she is my good friend, I love her, and I AM VERY EXCITED about her new show.  Cookbook prizes are being provided and paid for by me and all the other awesome prizes are being provided by Ree.  Just so you know I am also a contributor on Tasty Kitchen but I would have gladly hosted this party if I weren’t.

I have been a fan of Ree’s for years and love the combination of recipes, photography, blogging and more. I don’t know her personally as you do but she comes across as someone “real” and someone you would want to hang-with. And, I’m sure she appreciates your very sweet and diplomatic comments. She had me at; Cinnamon Rolls!

I was just recently introduced to Ree’s show just a few days ago. I have tried several of her recipes and loved each one of them. But now I am sadened to hear she is off the T.V. food channel :(
It has to be one of the best i have seen, with many relatable lifestyle teachings. From Family to church to just plain down home old fashiond cooking with a twist of new school techniques. You are an inspiration to many of us homemakers who went from black heels, to cleaning chicken coops. You have put the spark back into my kitchen and back in my heels, from time to time !!
    Thank you and GOD BLESS.
