Tis the Season to Giveaway a $200 Gift Card from American Express

by Alice Currah on December 21, 2011. Updated December 25, 2011

In 2008 Groupon launched an innovative way to buy deep discounted vouchers for everyday services like haircuts, spa treatments, housecleaning, restaurants, shopping, travel tours, and many other services.  From paper certificates to their Groupon iPhone app, finding and redeeming discounts for places you love to eat, shop, or utilize has never been easier.  Groupon has become a household name for finding the deals you want at the prices you love.  I love taking advantage of Groupon deals for my family!

As Christmas approaches and the stress of last-minute holiday gift buying increases, Groupon e-gift cards would make the perfect stocking stuffer or holiday gift for your friends, family, teachers,  colleagues, neighbors, and just about anyone.  No need to fight for the last and only parking spot at the mall or wait in long lines to buy the not-so-perfect gift because you waited till the last minute.  Instead, you can relax with a cup of coffee and print out a Groupon e-gift card which can immediately be used for whatever Groupon deal appeals to you for the day it’s offered.

Instead of buying more “stuff”, consider gifting Groupon e-gift cards towards experiences your loved ones use daily.

American Express has partnered with Groupon to now offer their American Express Rewards card members the opportunity to redeem their American Express rewards points towards Groupon gift cards for as little as 1500 points (equivalent to $15). Details can be found here.

To celebrate this partnership, American Express would love to gift one of you a $200 Groupon gift card for the holidays! Think of how many pedicures, travel excursions, and fancy dinners you could experience with $200 worth of Groupons!

All you have to do is leave a comment sharing your favorite holiday Groupon experience or tell me how you would use a $200 Groupon gift card.  One entry per person and each entrant must reside in the US.  Contest will close Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2011 at 9pm PST. One winner will be chosen at random and notified by email.  The contest is now closed. Congrats to Kiersten!

If you would like an additional entry,http://twitter.com/savorysweetlifeand tweet me telling what your favorite Groupon has been so far.  Make sure to use the hashtags #AmexGroupon #Win$200GC .

Good luck everyone!  Don’t forget to redeem your Amex Reward Points to get your Groupon on!

Many thanks to American Express for sponsoring this giftaway!

I would use this GC to pay down on a medical bill I have. my Dr has been so kind and helpful while I’ve been laid off this year & dealing with weekly Dr visits – and I’d like to get at least a little caught up.

Thanks for the opportunity.

I’ve never had a groupon – would love one for a massage or a FREE hotel room. Does this GC HAVE to be used for a Groupon – or can we use it on anything we want (groceries, Dr bills, etc)?

My favorite Groupon Christmas experience actually benefitted me. My mother-in-law had given me $25 and told me to put it towards a new piece of clothing from Coldwater Creek, as she knows I really like that store. I was able to use that money to buy a Groupon worth $50 at Coldwater Creek. The Groupon could be used for anything on their site, so I was able to browse their clearance/outlet section and ended up getting over $100 worth of clothes with my $25 gift.

I think I would need to use it exploring restaurants in the downtown area of Ft. Worth, TX. I love it and there are so many places I haven’t tried yet.

My favorite groupon coupon was for shutterfly. This was my first introduction to making a book of our family experience to the Galapagos Island with 3 generations in tow. My mom, me and my kids had a great time and now have a lovely shutterfly book to help us relive our special time together. Shared experiences with family keep us close and will last us a lifetime. I would adore making more shutterfly books so my children can relive their time with their family.
