The (stoneware) pie dish is nonporous ovenware that is resistant to chips, cracks, and scratches. Anything you bake in it turns out beautiful like this Bourbon Infused Apple Pie. The pie bird funnel is designed to release steam from the pie while baking. To accessorizing the stoneware is an oven mitt and silicone French trivet which comes in handy when removing the pie from the hot oven and setting it on the table.
On a humorous side note, I couldn’t help but chuckle when using the pie bird funnel. Don’t get me wrong, the funnel is awesome and serves a purpose but all I could think of is the Portlandia episode where all Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein would do is “put a bird on it.” Technically, you do put a bird on top of the pie filling so I guess I did put a bird on it, too.
