- Thank you to everyone who congratulated me on the recent news that I won Saveur’s recent photo contest. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, last month Saveur.com held a contest titled “Saveur Cover Contest” asking readers to submit their “best images – photography that would look right at home on Saveur’s cover”. It was the first time in their history that they hosted such a contest.

Last Thursday evening my sister and I attended the Celebrity Chef Tour benefiting the James Beard Foundation at Seattle’s Columbia Tower Club. The dinner was hosted by Executive Chef of the Columbia Tower Club, Chef James Hassell featuring James Beard Award Nominee and Restauranter Chef Ethan Stowell of Union, Tavolàta, and How to Cook a Wolf.
Honestly I wasn’t sure what to expect. This would be my first time dining in the Columbia Tower Club and partaking in one of Chef Ethan’s meals. When we arrived the first thing I noticed was the absolutely stunning and sweeping views of Downtown Seattle and beyond. The next thing I noticed is how intimate our dining area was. This morning when I checked my email I was stunned to see an email from Keren of FranticFoodie.blogspot.com. In the Subject heading was: WINNER. Say what? As I read her email I couldn’t believe what I was reading. I won 2 tickets to the coveted Celebrity Chef Tour Benefiting the James Beard Foundation. These tickets cost $175 each! I was having a Cinderella moment. THANK YOU KEREN!!! I had entered a contest on her site sharing what my most embarrassing moment in the kitchen was and she randomly picked my name.
