Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

by alice on February 16, 2010 · 21 comments

Last year I posted a recipe for Gluten-Free BitterSweet Choc0late Decadence cookies which are truley decadent.  Today I share a similar chocolate chocolate chip cookie which is a chocolate lover’s dream come true.  What I love about this recipe is how easy the dough is to work with and how decadent the texture is.  They literally melt in your mouth with each bite.  Although I used semi-sweet chocolate chips, feel free to use any type of chocolate chips you like including peanut butter or mint.  This recipe also calls for an optional 1/2 cup of chopped nuts.  If you do decide to add nuts I suggest almonds, peanuts, macadamia, walnuts, or pecan.  And if you happen to have any instant coffee on hand such as Starbucks Via, feel free to add 2 teaspoons to the dough as well. Fruit Dip Recipe

Marshmallow Fruit Dip

Have you ever been to a party where the host served fruit with a gooey, sweetened cream?  Chances are you were eating fruit dip.  This creamy dip looks like whipped cream but is much sweeter, thicker, and denser.  This particular recipe is my go-to fruit dip recipe because its simple, easy, fast, and always popular at brunches, potlucks, and showers.  With Valentine’s Day just a few days away I thought I would share this great dessert idea you can pull together within minutes.  This recipe only requires two ingredients and perfectly pairs well with strawberries.  [click to continue…]

Molten Lava Cakes Recipe

by alice on February 8, 2010 · 45 comments

One of my m0st favorite desserts to make for Valentine’s Day or special occasions are molten lava cakes.  If you’re not familiar with these special chocolate cakes you’re in for a real treat.  Each cake is baked in individual cups (or cupcake tin) and served warm with a melt in your mouth chocolate liquid center (lava).

Don’t let the photo intimidate you from making these miniature decadent chocolate cakes from heaven. This recipe is really easy, quick to prepare and bake, forgiving, and will make you look like a rock-star.  As a warning, if you  dust them with a little powdered sugar, whipped cream, or a scoop of vanilla or mint ice cream, you may earn a reputation as a “Dessert Diva” and will be required to make these every time company comes over.  And if you are a guy making this for your sweetie… trust me on this, chocolate is the way to a woman’s heart. Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Ten years ago today, I said “I do” to my husband Rob.  Three kids later, we are still laughing, encouraging each other, and closer than ever.  I had planned on baking a small anniversary cake but in light of what is happening in Haiti, my mind has been scattered with images and stories from this devastated country. In other words, no cake.   Instead, I will leave you with an easy, romantic recipe for chocolate covered strawberries.  [click to continue…]

Peanut Butter Cup Brownie Bites Recipe

by alice on January 12, 2010 · 41 comments

I have a small confession to make.  I have a secret stash of Reese’s Mini Peanut Butter Cups on the top shelf of my pantry.  I usually access it nightly after the kids have gone to bed.  But today I had this thought.. wouldn’t these little peanut butter cups be so cute and so good inside a mini brownie?  It would be just enough brownie to suspend the mini peanut butter cup just perfectly.  Next thing I knew I was baking up a batch and popping them in my mouth.  Heavenly.

The nice part about this recipe is that the baking time is only about 15 minutes and the batter can be prepared in a mixing bowl.  No special mixer required.  [click to continue…]
