Hi, welcome to Savory Sweet Life! My name is Alice Currah and I am the publisher of this site. In 2009 I started this site as a visually focused family food journal with the intention of wanting to share our family recipes with others and sharing bits and pieces of my life along the way. Since then over 20 million people have visited Savory Sweet Life and the site itself has evolved but my cooking philosophy has not. I believe good food should be delicious, approachable, and nourish the body and soul.
In 2012 the bestselling Savory Sweet Life cookbook was published by HarperCollins/William Morrow and for seven years I’ve been the weekly food columnist for PBS Parents. I’ve experienced extraordinary opportunities and once in a life time experiences as a food writer and photographer because a long time ago I decided to start this blog and the unfolding of the unknown has allowed me to have an amazing career in the culinary world.
Named by Forbes as ‘One of the Very Best Food Bloggers,’ I’ve had the privilege to have a PBS cooking series for two seasons, judge numerous cooking competitions as well as compete and win in an NBC cooking competition again Top Chefs, and have been featured in many wonderful publications including People, Real Simple, Martha Stewart, NPR, Washington Post, Splendid Table, Epicurious, Red Book, Seattle Times, and many others.
I also freelance with outside companies in recipe development, spokesperson work, and digital media campaign collaborations. Whether I’m doing live segments on daytime tv or shooting behind the lens, I love partnering with companies who are looking for an established voice in the culinary space to help them achieve their vision.
I’m also available to speak at your next event or conference on a wide variety of topics from social justice to food and family.
If you would like to work with me, please send me an email at savorysweetlife@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
