Easy Fruit Tart

Last update: July 15, 2016 By Alice Currah 26 Comments

Dishes made with puff pastry have a special place in my heart. Perhaps it is all the flaky, buttery layers of puff pastry which makes just about anything taste really good – especially desserts. Today I have a special treat for you. My eight year old daughter, Mimi, is featured in a cooking video I created and posted for PBS Parents Kitchen Explorers. In the video, Mimi shows you how to make a beautiful fresh fruit tart using strawberries and blueberries. It’s the perfect dessert for Memorial Day.

What I love about this fruit tart is how easy it is to pull together once the puff pastry has been baked. It tastes like a bakery-style dessert without much effort on my part. You can find the complete recipe at PBS Parents Kitchen Explorers but I wanted to at least share the video with you here on Savory Sweet Life.

Mimi did an amazing job in only a few takes. I am very proud of her. I’m hoping she will want to do more videos with me in the near future but for right now I am happy with just this one. Hope you all like it, too!
