HOW TO MAKE INSTANT POT QUINOA
Instant Pot Quinoa is one of the most fool-proof Instant Pot recipes you can make in a hurry. With a cook time of one minute, I always feel like I’m getting away with something, even though that’s the whole point of the Instant Pot… to make life better while cooking.
Most people avoid cooking quinoa because they think it’s too laborious to babysit a pot on the stove. But once you learn how to make perfect quinoa in the Instant Pot, there is no going back. Like, never. Nope.
Keep in mind, the recipe itself does not take one-minute to make start to finish. There is a 15 minute wait time after the one-minute timer goes off. However, while the quinoa is depressurizing, it’s more than enough time to grill or sauté some vegetables along with a protein like chicken. You can have a complete wholesome dinner in 20 minutes. What I normally do is grill some vegetables along with some protein in a cast iron grill pan on my stove.
As someone who had regularly used her stove top pressure cooker for well over 20 years, switching over to the Instant Pot makes the whole idea of fix it and forget about it more doable without having to worry about the traditional pressure cooker exploding. In fact, I own two Instant Pots because I’ve found it much easier to cook two things at the same time, instead of having to wait for one dish to be done before I can start cooking the next one.
One cup of uncooked quinoa serves 5 people, the perfect amount for a single family dinner. However, if you were to prepare 2 cups of quinoa, the leftovers hold well for future meals and makes it easy to prepare other quinoa recipes faster because you’ve already cooked it. Prepare the perfect quinoa in the Instant Pot in 1 minute.
- 1 cup quinoa
- 1.5 cups water or broth
- pinch salt

Add the ingredients to your Instant Pot.

Cook the quinoa for 1 minute and allow the quinoa to rest in the natural release stage for 15 minutes.

The lid should easily open but if not, quick release any remaining steam. Give the quinoa a quick stir before serving.
