Simply Delicious Recipes for Everyday Living

Almond Cranberry Granola

Last update: July 15, 2016 By Alice Currah 12 Comments

Cooking with kids in the kitchen is a wonderful way to spend time together.  This recipe for almond cranberry granola Eli and I made is not only healthy but simple to prepare, even for young preschool aged children. I love homemade granola for several reasons.  Oats are very inexpensive and making granola is a fraction of the the cost than the store bought variety.  By making your own granola, you can swap out the fix-ins based on your preferences.   And finally, I love the taste of homemade granola.  There is a beautiful homeyness to it all which feeds my soul in a comforting way.

So hop over to PBS Parents Kitchen Explorers to read more about my time preparing this granola with my son and for the recipe.  Would love to hear from you here and there!

Homemade granola is better for so many reasons. I also like that you can control how toasty you make it. Looks like so much fun creating this with your little guy, precious time together 🙂

I wish I could get my kids on board with granola. The closest I come is the occasional granola bar, but only the store-bought kind. : (
